Nar-Phu valley is located in Manang district of Nepal. The valley is named after two villages Nar and Phu situated at an altitude of 13642 and 12992 feet respectively. The climate is cold and little windy. The valley is blessed with the beauty of high snow peaks, ancient villages, high altitude grazing settlements and rocky terrains. Travelling there is always accompanied by the beautiful chain of Himalayas including Manaslu, Dhaulagiri and Annapurna I. The rugged landscapes with eye pleasing scenes of rocks, mountains, Gumbas, streams, and glaciers attracts the visitors.
Between the two villages are the winter villages of Meta and Chako ( belonging to Nar) and Kyang (belonging to Phu). Villagers regularly descend to their winter villages for a few months to escape the harsh cold higher up. Though the land does not support much production, people are engaged in farming of wheat , barley and buckwheat. Besides they do yak herding and trade.
The reason I called the valley mysterious is it is little-trekked area though being a wonderful place to visit. Trekkers have to trek through the route of Annapurna circuit. It is a rugged, wild trek full of wonders and beauty. The trek is most adventurous and physically demanding which a few adventure loving people likes to do. Nar-Phu valley trek is full of spectacular, unforgettable natural view with purest Himalayan culture. Nowadays, number of visitors is increasing and visitors always had some best memories in there.
