Washington – Joe Biden of the Democratic Party has taken over the presidency of the United States. Biden, who was elected in the November 3 presidential election, was sworn in as the 46th president on Capitol Hill in Washington on Wednesday.

Along with Biden, Kamala Harris has also been sworn in as Vice President. She was sworn in by Supreme Court Judge Sonia Sotomeyer. Harris, of Asian descent, is the first woman to be elected vice president of the United States. Former US presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton were among the first women to attend the ceremony on Capitol Hill. Biden thanked his elders for attending the swearing-in ceremony. “It’s a celebration of democracy.

This is a day of history and hope, “he said. Biden said that during his tenure, the will of the people will always be appreciated. Biden called on all Americans to work together to overcome the unprecedented challenges facing the United States. This time, the bitter relationship between the outgoing Donald Trump and the new President Biden became extraordinary. Trump, who has denied electoral defeat, did not attend Biden’s inauguration. Earlier, Democrat President Andrew Johnson had not welcomed new President Ulysses S. Grant in 1869. Grant’s support for Johnson’s removal was considered normal.

Biden’s team says he will reverse some of President Trump’s decisions on his first day in office. Biden is expected to sign an executive order backing the US agreement on climate change in Paris. He also plans to block the construction of a wall along the border with Mexico.
